Beginning with the repair of a long-neglected Field Gun injury, Drill unfolds in recursive, fragmented threads within the same system as the sculptural practice that punctuates its pages. Centred on the extraordinary history of the Artists' Rifles and the Royal Tournament's Field Gun Competition, it draws together paths through art and military life in search of focal points—navels where meaning gathers and around which human beings orient themselves.

Through collisions of anatomy with geology, ritual with cosmology, humour with violence, and military spectacle with primitive instinct, Drill explores how we move and imagine together, and how we make meaning through creation, destruction and sacrifice.
